Masthead

A music magazine. Road-tested.

This Is Truck covers live music and festival culture — the bands that live on the road, the small festivals that survive, and the scenes that make either one possible.

We write about tour announcements, festival lineups, the economics of small weekenders, the cities that anchor real music scenes, and the records that earn their second listen. We do not pretend to like things we do not like. We do not recycle press releases.

The name

The URL has its roots in the early-2010s Truck Festival in Oxfordshire — one of the great small UK weekenders. We took the name on because we like what it stood for: a few hundred people, a couple of days, music that mattered. The magazine is independent and not affiliated with the festival, its current organizers, or any rights holder.

What we cover

  • Live — tour previews, set reports, the road show.
  • Reviews — records that earn a second listen.
  • Features — the economics, the scenes, the long looks.
  • Lineups — festival bills, day-by-day.
  • Scene — cities, venues, the small rooms.
