The Truck Label
It's 2007, major record labels are shedding layers of staff, turning historic studios into flats and becoming 'content providers'. We're pretty indifferent, still going into the spartan confines of Truck Studios with friends, and trying to create some magic. The label exists so we can try to create an outlet for this music, as we really think some of it's pretty special. Putting on the festival we also get to hear some great recordings and see some great performances and sometimes we release some of those artists material too. The way it happens is slow, organic and mysterious. Hard to say how we ended up with our new signings Danny Wilson, Gabe Minnikin, Pedro and Chris McMath, but we're very pleased about all of them.
You may notice I'm not calling it Truck Records- we had 7 eventful years under that name, scoring some notable successes, but the future is more than records. The Truck Label is our way of saying: this is the sound of Truck.
