Days, times and stages announced!

Has all that wall-to-wall Glastonbury coverage whetted your festival appetite, like it has ours? Or maybe, like Joe and Chris Bennett, you were actually there - Joe even joined Stornoway on the mighty Pyramid stage!

We love Glastonbury, and with the multiple and varied areas, the rustic farm setting (indeed farmer Alan has a bit of the Eavis about him) and the local background of Truck, we certainly feel a certain kindred spirit; we notice Emily Eavis has been taking after us and having her first child a few days before the festival! Of course, there’s one major difference: it only takes 5 minutes to find your friends at Truck, and let’s just say getting from stage to stage is a bit easier.

Speaking of stages, we’ve always liked the way the hillside arena slopes down to the Pyramid stage at Glasto, and for years have eyed a similar field at Hill Farm; this year, we’ve taken the plunge and moved the Truck Stage into that field, as part of the many exciting changes to the layout (we’ll be sketching out a map for you to see in the next couple of weeks- we don’t want you getting lost!).

LINE-UP, DAYS AND TIMES NOW UP

The line-up, with days, times and stages, is now posted in our Programme section; we urge you to look at it, and see for your self. 3 days of music, and much more besides. For the first time in 14 years, Truck is officially a three day festival – you can arrive from midday Friday with music starting at 4pm - and leave Monday morning (a changed man/woman), all for under £100.

If you haven’t looked yet, the bill is crammed with talent including:

Team, Johnny Flynn, The Duke & King, Cherry Ghost, Roddy Woomble, Pete & The Pirates, Caitlin Rose, Chad Valley, Liam Finn and many, many more great acts and artists featuring on our numerous stages, with curators and hosts including Transgressive, Heavenly and Bella Union, BBC Oxford Introducing, Blessing Force, Truck Store, Oxford Folk Festival and Nonclassical.

There’ll be comedy from some of the UK’s finest acts, including Richard Herring; cabaret from Queen of Clubs, Cabaret Clandestino and The Long Insiders, theatre productions (and kids’ workshops) from Oxford Playhouse, sure to be thought provoking and entertaining in equal measure, and cinema including Saint Etienne’s Finisterre film.

We’ve got a dedicated family field – the Wood Field -and children’s activities and entertainment to keep all the little truckers happy while the grown ups enjoy the delights of the local food and drink in our new fine dining area or the sights and sounds of all the other goings on. Best of all, your little ones go free!

If you don’t feel like slumming it in your own tents, we have on offer a variety of comfortable camping options, including furnished tipis and yurts. You can party ‘til the wee small hours, dancing and enjoying a cheeky cocktail or three in Boxford, our early-hours DJ tent; or simply relax in one of the many peaceful fields and look at the stars*. (*absence of cloud cover pending). See you there, or even sooner at one of our warm-up shows!
