Happy Earth Day!

Hello there friend,

It is Earth Day today! What's Earth Day? In brief, it was founded in the Sixties by a Senator named Gaylord, as a focus for the early environmental movement. Bizarrely, the date (April 22nd) was chosen because it's the birthday of the actor Eddie Albert. There's more on this at our favourite eco-blog Environmental Graffiti.

We're working closely with several environmental charities and groups to make our new festival WOOD a real celebration of music and the earth, whether it's Ashley Hutchings' songs about trees or getting hoisted up into the branches to learn about the rainforest canopy..  we hope you'll be able to join us at Braziers' Park on May 16th-18th, and we hope that the weather will be as sunny as it is today!

We are having a launch party for WOOD this Sunday April 27th at the Oakford Social Club in Reading, right next to the station. Danny & The Champions of The World and Holton's Opulent Oog are playing and it's FREE, so there's no excuse not to come if you're in the area.

Did we mention that The Lemonheads, one of our favourite ever bands, will be making their only UK appearance of the summer at TRUCK? They will play their classic album 'It's A Shame About Ray' in full during the set! A very limited number of tickets remain for this year's festival, from www.wegottickets.com and the shops listed at the bottom of this email.

Remember, every day is Earth Day!

Love from Robin and all the Truckers x
